Colony Management
The breeding and expansion of your genetically altered (GA) rodent strains that are needed for the required experiments, is something we can additionally do for you and in close collaboration. This way, you will save time, space, hence money. We offer full insight into our Health Monitoring Programme and provide you with all Health Monitoring Reports necessary The animals are housed at the Animal Resource Centre (Erasmus University Medical Centre), which operates in compliance with the “Animal Welfare Act” of the Dutch government, using the “Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals” as its standard. As required by Dutch law, formal permission to generate and use genetically modified animals will be obtained from the responsible local and national authorities. An independent Animal Ethics Committee will consulted by Erasmus Medical Center (Stichting DEC Consult) to approve the studies, in accordance with national and international guidelines.
Breeding services
We will breed, maintain and expand your strains as needed. We will ship animals to you and/ or your collaborators upon your request. We will ship tissue samples for genotyping to you or any third party you appoint for that service. In combination with our cryopreservation and rederivation services, our breeding programme safeguards the genetic integrity of your valuable strains as well as their microbiological quality. Shipments are accompanied by a comprehensive health report. All shipments are accompanied by comprehensive health reporting.
